Scholarships specifically for study abroad are available through a number of organizations. For more information on these external scholarships, click on links for each scholarship.

  2. Begin application process.  Not sure how to get started? Work with either your study abroad advisor or the Concordia Writing Center to brainstorm ideas.
  3. Review tips for writing scholarship essays.

Concordia University, St. Paul Scholarships

There is one application form for all Concordia University, St. Paul Study Abroad Scholarships. Submit the application form along with an essay and statement of financial need to the CALL Center (Meyer Hall 115) or email attachments as a PDF to abroad@csp.edu. All components of the application must be turned in by April 16, 2018 in order for your application to be accepted. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

In November 2015, Horton Inc. donated $153,000 to the Minnesota Private College Fund for a new established scholarship, the Horton Global Scholars Program, focusing on study abroad scholarships for students studying business or STEM. Each of MPCC’s 17 member institutions will receive one (1) $3,000 scholarship for each of the next three years starting in 2016-2017.

Terms:Fall, Spring, or Academic Year 2018-2019

Amount:$3,000

Requirements:Applicants must be a business related or STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) major and student must have demonstrated unmet financial need. Click here for more information: Horton Global Scholars Program 2018

The Dorow family donated to Concordia St. Paul to establish a Korean scholarship for students interested in studying for a semester or year on our Soon Chun Hyang University Exchange Program.

Terms:Fall, Spring, or Academic Year 2018-2019

Amount:$1,000

Requirements:Applicants must be a current undergraduate student going on the semester or year-long Soon Chun Hyang University Exchange Program and student must demonstrate unmet financial need.

The Langemo and Schmidt family donated to Concordia St. Paul to establish a study abroad scholarship for students with unmet financial need studying abroad for a semester or year.

Terms:Fall 2018 or Academic Year 2018-2019

Amount:$1,200

Requirements:Applicants must be a current undergraduate student going on the semester or year-long and student must demonstrate unmet financial need. Preference goes to a student who identifies as LGBTQIA+.
