2018-2019 Service Trips

Service trips are not for credit and available to all undergraduate students. Service trips are proposed by students and student-led. Students must submit an application and a $50 deposit to be considered for a service trip. Applications are available at the start of the fall semester and due October 2nd. Applicants are selected for service trips by October 5th, 2018. Service Trip participants are required to attend the kick-off meeting as well as meetings assigned by trip leaders. Students will have the opportunity to fund-raise for the service trips throughout the year.
Service Trips for the 2018-2019 academic year will be chosen in May of 2018. Applications will open first day of classes of the academic year.

2017-2018 Service Trips

Nicaragua Service Trip  – January Break 2018

(Tentative dates: December 30-January 7th)

  • Travel to Candelaria, Nicaragua to serve with New Song Mission
  • Play with children, teach Sunday School, work on construction projects, and help with agriculture programs
  • Learn about the people of Nicaragua and their lifestyle
  • Flight, meals and lodging included

Texas Flood/Hurricane Relief Service Trip – Spring Break 2018

(Tentative dates: February 24-March 4)

  • Work with local non-profits and possibly CSP alums to assist in Hurricane Harvey clean-up efforts. More details as they become available.
  • Transportation, most meals and lodging included

Costa Rica Service Trip- Spring Break 2018

(tentative dates: February 24-March 4)

  • Environmental service trip protecting endangered leatherback turtles with the organization La Tortuga Feliz
  • Live on an island off of Costa Rica for a week–flight, most meals and transportation included
  • Group will be involved in starting to build the hatchery for the new season on the beach (lots of digging). The group will also help get ready for opening and beginning to patrol from 1 March for nesting endangered leatherbacks
